More About Peter...
At the age of five my mother would take me to jewelry stores where I gazed in amazement at the shimmering colors of precious stones and the ageless luster of gold and silver. That moment in time ignited a creative desire to express myself in the art of jewelry making. I love to work with the entire range of gemstones, specializing in high quality and timeless gems.
In all my work I love to emphasize the sculptural and sensual aspects of jewelry making while at the same time creating a balance between a beautiful gemstone and a complimentary design.
Much of my work I incorporates images from nature that inspires me and gives me a sense of wonder. I love the lines of a dragonfly, an iris or a trellis vine...even musical notations.
One of my favorite quotes is a simple one from Picasso: “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
I incorporate this philosophy in all my work and my expression of creativity unifies my heart, soul, and spirit that can touch and inspire people who appreciate bringing greater meaning to their lives.
As a jewelry artist I am proud and honored to be a part of many peoples’ lives, celebrations, special occasions, anniversaries, weddings, and birthdays.
Honors and Awards
I have been selling my work at various art shows and galleries all over the United States for the last 30 years and have received various awards and acknowledgments as follows:
- 1981 - My work was on the cover of ‘Shopping International’ magazine
- 1987 - My work was shown in conjunction with an Erté exhibit at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
- 1991 - I won 2nd place for jewelry design at the Millbrae Art Festival
- 1994 - I was a featured artist at Macy’s at Union Square in San Francisco for a new Craft Gallery they had just opened
- 1997 - I was one of several featured artists at a jewelry exhibition at Wolfard’s Gallery in Santa Rosa, California
- 1999 - I was one of the featured artists at the Halem and Co. gallery in Healdsburg, California
- 2000 - I was one of several featured artists at a jewelry exhibition at the Sandpiper Gallery in Mendocino, California
- 2002 - 2007 I was the featured artist of a jewelry exhibition at Wolfard’s Gallery in Santa Rosa, California
